Bold thinking

If there is any person in the Bible that I would like to emulate is Abraham.  Abraham is a person who was born in the world of idol worship and by his own questionings reached the conclusion that there is a God.  He first looked for God and God responded his quest. This is the beginning of his relationship with God and he became the Father of entire Jewish nations.  The story of Abraham always fascinates me, first he was not influenced by external environment.  We are originally susceptible to the environment.  There is no one who is free from external environment, but Abraham was able to question and was able to reach his own unique conclusion.  Secondly he was a man of courage.  To know something is one and to do something is another.  Not everybody can act for what is right, but Abraham got out of his familiar world to live a life of truth.  Last but not in the least, Abraham was bold in his action.  Nobody asked him to do it but he himself created an entirely different way of living.  He created a new style of life that did not exist in the world beforehand.

The quality that we should learn most from Abraham is setting the course of a new way of living and living his words. I think this is something we can learn from and apply to savings groups. True, savings group has potential to bring tangible difference but I think it is not enough.  I believe it can be a beginning for something amazing.  The point is it should be under constant improvement without limit. “You are confined only by the walls you build yourself.” How often we forget that we have a power within us?  How often we limit our imagination and even not even trying to imagine?  I think it is a high time for us to think bold, dream big and set a new course of history for savings groups.
